Mains Chlorination for New Water Connections
If you’ve installed new mains water pipework, it must be disinfected before it can be connected to the public water supply.
We carry out mains water chlorination in line with BS 8558. A chlorination certificate is usually needed before a new water connection can go ahead, and site managers and clients often ask for one at handover.
When Is Mains Water Chlorination Needed?
You’ll typically need mains chlorination if:
New mains pipework has been installed
A connection to the public water supply is required
Pipework has been repaired or modified
The system has been left empty or unused
Without chlorination and sample results in place, a new connection can be held up.
