Internal Pipework Chlorination | BS 8558 Disinfection Services

If you’ve installed new internal pipework, it will usually need to be chlorinated before it can be brought into use or signed off.

We carry out pipework chlorination in line with BS 8558, providing certification required by water authorities, site managers and clients.

When Is Internal Pipework Chlorination Needed?

You’ll typically need chlorination if:

  • New pipework has been installed

  • Pipework has been altered or extended

  • Systems have been left unused or stagnant

  • A project requires certification before handover

Our Chlorination Process

We follow a straightforward, compliant process:

  1. Pre-flush of the system

  2. Dosing to the required chlorine concentration (typically 50 ppm)

  3. Contact time in line with BS 8558

  4. Neutralisation and safe discharge

  5. Sampling if required

  6. Certification issued on completion

Chlorination Certification

On completion, we provide a chlorination certificate confirming the system has been disinfected in accordance with relevant standards.

This is often required before:

  • Mains connection

  • Project sign-off

  • Handover to client
